Top Color Change

March 3rd, 2010

For a great visual effect, a sleigh-of-hand that’s a color change, the top color change is one of the killer moves in the ambitious card routine. It’s almost a card magic trick in itself but it’s best combined with other moves to create a great performance.

The idea is simple, you flip the card on top of the deck so it’s face up and cover it with a face down card. Now you’re free to create the illusion at any moment when you cover the card with your hand.

I hope you enjoy this one, it’s definitively worth being in your card magic arsenal!

Have fun!

Snap Color Change

December 23rd, 2007

This is a good color change you can use to reveal a selected card from a double lift it is clean but requires practice. However it’s a great effect when added to easy card tricks.

Dead Card Change

December 22nd, 2007

This is the dead man’s color change card trick. Be very careful if you intend to rely on it in a trick or cardistry routine. When using this color change you have to check and be sure all your angles are under control or you will become the reason your audience will be laughing! :-P

It is basically the same methode as seen in the Shapeshifter that is the only unrevealed trick on magicopen.com by the way.

Hope you enjoy it!

Common Colour Change Tutorial by CardShark88

This is a clean colour change and might be the best I’ve seen in a long time, the tutorial is made by CardShark88. I could not resist linking the video, it adds good value to the Colour Changes section. Watch.

This colour change is not hard to perform but that doesn’t mean you will be performing it like CardShark88, I’ll call that extra-fluid-dexterity :-)

Smooth Wave Colour Change

December 22nd, 2007

This colour change is very close from being the exact same colour change as the Shapeshifter, you will need to do a Pinky Break to control the top card subtly and flip the cards held back to back quickly to give the impression of an immediate, unreal change.

There is no spoon… LoL. Have a nice day! :-)

Since this colour change is copyrighted and cannot be explained in details we are not allowed to publish it’s solution. However I strongly suggest you look at the video a few times to find out how it is done (i.e.: basic sleight of hand and/or card switch).

Post Update: We have found a way to help you understand how the shapeshifter is executed! Read on…

Quite simple: it is practically the same methode used in the Smooth Wave Colour Change. Enjoy!
