This is a must, do not even think about skipping this one if you intend to do any card magic or free magic at all! The first and simplest variation of the pinky break is done in 3 steps that can easily be covered by gesturing with the hand that holds the deck while creating the break:
- Hold your deck with the mecanics grip
- Push the top card slightlty using your thumb until you can fit your pinky between the top card (that is pushed) and the second card
- Put the fat part of your pinky between the top and second card and push back the card gently until it is aligned back with the rest of the deck.
