Sleight Of Hand Secrets Revealed

MindBlower multi-trick

December 22nd, 2007

This is a great trick for beginners equiped with a very strong neodynium earth magnets (at least 1×1 to be efficient through a normal table). This requires some preparation but you will very soon be ready to act with your home made magnetic cards.

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/413086/

Also please think outside of the box (this video), there are quite a few things that could be done with such uncommonly magnetic props that are absolutely crazy.

Here are a few I’m thinking of:

  • Folded Bill

You hand the magnetic to a waitress and pefore she puts it away you take it back from as far as you can without touching it while saying something “Wait! I think I might use the change in my pocket instead” and put the bill away as you reach for your change.

This would get strong reactions; really!

If you do this to a waitress make sure she’s not in a rush or she might pocket the bill faster than you!

We like your feedback!

Good Card Fanning Tutorial

December 22nd, 2007

This is a must for all magicians who do card magic and most (if not all!) do. It requires practice and can be replaced by other techniques which are simpler, but it will really add to a performance as it will seem to be unique to you since people do not often see that in their daily lives.

Learn, Practice and Perform.

Common Colour Change Tutorial by CardShark88

December 22nd, 2007

This is a clean colour change and might be the best I’ve seen in a long time, the tutorial is made by CardShark88. I could not resist linking the video, it adds good value to the Colour Changes section. Watch.

This colour change is not hard to perform but that doesn’t mean you will be performing it like CardShark88, I’ll call that extra-fluid-dexterity :-)

Smooth Wave Colour Change

December 22nd, 2007

This colour change is very close from being the exact same colour change as the Shapeshifter, you will need to do a Pinky Break to control the top card subtly and flip the cards held back to back quickly to give the impression of an immediate, unreal change.

There is no spoon… LoL. Have a nice day! :-)

Quick Card Flip

December 22nd, 2007

This is also known as “The Fastest Card Trick In The World” due to the speed at which you create the illusion of flipping a card upside down inside the pack of cards without opening it at all.

All that to say; It’s a great secret to be revealed on a Monday morning ;-) there is a small sleight of hand needed in its performance… Have a look:

As you saw, it is an easy magic trick to perform once you become fluid at reversing the entire deck without anyone noticing!

The Dribble Pass

December 22nd, 2007

This is a though one but keep practicing if you’re into card magic! This is a total convincer if you can break it down and master it! Great tutorial from magic-bible.com:

The Riffle Pass

December 22nd, 2007

This based on the classic pass but requires more practice. It is best performed when the card inserted in the middle of the deck is left face up and creates a very convincing visual illusion when it is brought back on top of the deck.

It can also be combined with the turn-over pass or in a magic trick routine like the ambitious card routine.

The Classic Pass

December 22nd, 2007

The pass is a sleight of hand used in magic tricks to control a card that is apparently inserted in the deck back on to the top of the cards. The following video is quite descriptive, it will show you a few variations and different methods to get your pinky break.

Here it is explained slowly (you can also use the finger next to your pinky instead):

This is a video of what this card magic trick or sleight of hand should look like when you learned it well (it also has a very nice variation that is a magic trick in its own):

Here is a performance of the shapeshifter magic trick:

Since this colour change is copyrighted and cannot be explained in details we are not allowed to publish it’s solution. However I strongly suggest you look at the video a few times to find out how it is done (i.e.: basic sleight of hand and/or card switch).

Post Update: We have found a way to help you understand how the shapeshifter is executed! Read on…

Quite simple: it is practically the same methode used in the Smooth Wave Colour Change. Enjoy!
